The Student Citizens Academy is a one-week program designed for Charles County youth who want to learn more about local government operations; collaborate with other youth leaders in their community; and begin networking with professionals from a variety of fields. Over the course of the week, you and your cohort will see firsthand how county government operates, including visiting unique county operations sites; meeting with partner agencies; and attending civic meetings and events. Using this newly gained knowledge, participants will work together on a project that will be presented to camp leaders, employees, and families at the end of the week!
