Beyond the Bell is an after school club for middle school aged teens looking for a safe environment to do homework, make new friends, enjoy various STEM projects while engaging in fun physical activity. Our dependable staff will encourage participants to be creative and innovative thinkers. Participants may be eligible for discounts at select Charles County Recreation events and programs with ongoing Beyond the Bell participation. **Please complete the Beyond the Bell Registration located under Membership prior to registering for the week(s). Click here to add it to your cart. One-time non-refundable registration fee of $25 per school year. **Payments are not charged automatically, you must register for each week or day you would like.

Zumba - Zumba
Zumba is a high-energy Latin international dance workout set to upbeat music. You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in a Zumba class. With the tag line, “Ditch the Workout, Join the Party,” the classes emphasize moving to the music and having a good time, no rhythm required. Mini session meets once a week for four consecutive weeks. Full session meets once a week for six (6) consecutive weeks. Participants must bring towel and water bottle. Winter: No class January 19 and February 16.Spring: No class April 6, May 9, May 12, May 16, and May 25.Walk-In Fee: (Unless the class is full)-with Tammy $12/visit -with Celeste $8/visit

SOMD Youth Volleyball Training - SOMD Youth Volleyball Training - Piccowaxen
New to volleyball or wanting to advance your beginning or intermediate skills? This instructional youth volleyball program is offered to all skill levels of players from beginner to advanced. Experienced co-directors Nila Toribio-Straka and Ron Swann, in addition to other experienced coaches of the Southern Maryland Volleyball Club bring their wealth of knowledge of the game to your athlete. Players will be introduced to various aspects of volleyball with emphasis on executing the proper technique of passing, serving, and hitting. As players advance in their skill development, drills will incorporate game-like situations to introduce players to the fundamental aspects of the game of volleyball. Open to boys and girls. No class March 30, April 1 and 6.Drop-In Resident Fee: $40.00 Drop-In Non-Resident Fee: $45.00

Join us for a fun and creative arts and crafts adventure. Every class we will create multiple masterpieces. Whether it will be paint, construction paper, glue, crayons, or something else – your child will love the artwork they bring home.*Adult participation is required for participants ages 2-6. *Each month will be a different theme.
