School’s out… let the fun begin! Students on the Go is a tailor-made field trip program for students looking for a little adventure on scheduled school closures. Program offers students the opportunity to explore local attractions and historical sites in a safe, fun, and engaging way. Field trips are subject to change. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.*Fees to be determined by field trip* Additional Information: Program will be offered at Wade Community Center.  Program will serve participants 6 to 10 years of age and operate from 8am to 4pm on dates listed below.**Drop off will take place from 8am to 9am with departure times varying depending on field trip destination. Pick up will be from 3:30 to 4pm.Upcoming Field Trips:December 23 - Ice! Winter Wonderland at Gaylord Hotel- Ice Exhibit that re-creates iconic scenes from the Charlie Brown holiday special, including its songs and musical score. There are also ice tunnels, seating areas and thrilling two-story ice slides inside the 20,000-square-foot exhibit. (Students will need to Pack or Buy Lunch)January 27 - Natural History Museum- Students will get to see exhibits of creatures that roams the earth before humans did! Along will a collection of tools,gems, and fossils that span over the age of time!  (Students will need to Pack a Lunch)February 17th - Children's Science Center- The Children's Center has speciality programs designed for children 2-12 that could peak any kids interests in science as well just their general curiosity with the world & why things works the way they do!  (Students will need to Pack or Buy Lunch)

Located off Rt. 231 near Benedict, the park offers over 14 miles of beautiful and diverse riding trails. Features include flat, wide-open riding, intense and hilly wooden terrain, a cross-country jumping course, trail obstacle course, and beachfront riding along the Patuxent River. $25.00 Annual Membership is required to ride at facility. Taught by William Blake - Students learn the basic principles and health benefits of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below.  Topics to be covered may include: kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense.  At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a belt in their Martial Art style.  Hapkido will involve tumbling.  All adult classes at each location will be Tang Soo Do.  Classes are once a week for eight weeks.  Pre-registration is required; no walk-in's will be accepted.  Online registration only.  Equipment fee of $45.00 will be collected at the first class. ***Parent Participation is required for Baby Dragons and Little Dragons classes. Challenge kids to put away their games, get up from the computer and experience fitness fun!  The instructor utilizes music during fun activities to improve cardiovascular, muscular strength, flexibility, overall stamina, speed and agility.
 
6:30 PM - 7:15 PM    Lil Athletes Academy - Lil Athletes Academy - Mattawoman
Join us for a new and exciting way to spend time with your child while introducing them to the wide world of sports. Our Lil Athletes Academy is designed to promote family and fun while introducing your child to a variety of sports and new friends in a safe environment. Our instructors have created an engaging curriculum plan, and everyone will have a great time learning together. All playing equipment will be provided. Each six-week session meets once a week (6 classes). Adult participation is required.

We offer two levels of Parkour. Each level has been developed to focus on the progressive needs of the individual student. Participants will be learning flips, spins, rolls and ways to challenge their bodies and mind while having fun. Participants will need to bring a water bottle.

Taught by William Blake - Students learn the basic principles and health benefits of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below.  Topics to be covered may include: kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense.  At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a belt in their Martial Art style.  Hapkido will involve tumbling.  All adult classes at each location will be Tang Soo Do.  Classes are once a week for eight weeks.  Pre-registration is required; no walk-in's will be accepted.  Online registration only.  Equipment fee of $45.00 will be collected at the first class. ***Parent Participation is required for Baby Dragons and Little Dragons classes. Taught by William Blake - Students learn the basic principles and health benefits of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below.  Topics to be covered may include: kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense.  At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a belt in their Martial Art style.  Hapkido will involve tumbling.  All adult classes at each location will be Tang Soo Do.  Classes are once a week for eight weeks.  Pre-registration is required; no walk-in's will be accepted.  Online registration only.  Equipment fee of $45.00 will be collected at the first class. ***Parent Participation is required for Baby Dragons and Little Dragons classes. Taught by William Blake - Students learn the basic principles and health benefits of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below.  Topics to be covered may include: kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense.  At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a belt in their Martial Art style.  Hapkido will involve tumbling.  All adult classes at each location will be Tang Soo Do.  Classes are once a week for eight weeks.  Pre-registration is required; no walk-in's will be accepted.  Online registration only.  Equipment fee of $45.00 will be collected at the first class. ***Parent Participation is required for Baby Dragons and Little Dragons classes. Join us for a new and exciting way to spend time with your child while introducing them to the wide world of sports. Our instructors have created an engaging curriculum plan, and everyone will have a great time learning together. All playing equipment will be provided. Taught by William Blake - Students learn the basic principles and health benefits of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below.  Topics to be covered may include: kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense.  At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a belt in their Martial Art style.  Hapkido will involve tumbling.  All adult classes at each location will be Tang Soo Do.  Classes are once a week for eight weeks.  Pre-registration is required; no walk-in's will be accepted.  Online registration only.  Equipment fee of $45.00 will be collected at the first class. ***Parent Participation is required for Baby Dragons and Little Dragons classes. Beautifully Brilliant is a monthly workshop that prepares girls to meet the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood through a coordinated, progressing series of high-quality activities and learning experiences that will help them to achieve social, emotional, and physical well-being. Girls will participate in 1:1 mentoring & enrichment activities, that will assist in them becoming more confident. They will also gain the ability to analyze their own strengths and weaknesses, set goals, and authentically boost their self-esteem.

Zumba is a high-energy Latin international dance workout set to upbeat music. You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in a Zumba class. This class is for advanced gymnasts who have taken Blue/Bronze/Gold/Platinum. Students should have a strong handstand, back hip circle, pullover on bars, and Big Cast. You must have a handstand flat back on the vault before advancing to this level. Participants will need to bring a water bottle.

Calling LEGO fans! Your child will have an opportunity to make LEGO projects with others, compete in games, and build off the wall structures – all using LEGOs! Each month will be a different lesson.
 
6:45 PM - 7:15 PM    Dance Classes - Hip Hop: Ages 6-8
Does your child love to dance? Check out all of dance classes below.Ballet and TapLearn basic ballet and tap skills while learning the proper techniques and building strength. Classes will cover basic moves and work on choreography. All skill levels welcome. Parental presence is required. Hip HopCome join us for Hip Hop! This fun class will teach basic dance skills and work on choreography while learning proper techniques. All skill levels are welcome. Participants must bring water bottle. Classes meet once a week for 6 or 8 weeks depending on the location. Dance ComboJoin us for our dance class filled with movements from Ballet and Jazz! Learn the basics of ballet and jazz while learning the proper techniques and building strength. Classes will cover basic moves and work on choreography. All skill levels welcome. Classes meet once a week for 6 or 8 weeks depending on the location.Belly Dance & Hip HopLearn the traditional oriental belly dance style combined with urban hip hop movement. This class is a great workout to get your body moving while working on body isolations and coordination.Drop-In Available for $12 or $14 (Unless the class is full). 
 
6:50 PM - 7:50 PM    Martial Arts - Intermediate
Taught by William Blake - Students learn the basic principles and health benefits of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below.  Topics to be covered may include: kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense.  At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a belt in their Martial Art style.  Hapkido will involve tumbling.  All adult classes at each location will be Tang Soo Do.  Classes are once a week for eight weeks.  Pre-registration is required; no walk-in's will be accepted.  Online registration only.  Equipment fee of $45.00 will be collected at the first class. ***Parent Participation is required for Baby Dragons and Little Dragons classes. One (1) parent per one (1) registered participant is required to participate for the entire class.  ***Class meets once a week per session. Time permitting, one (1) additional make up class maybe included due to a postponement or cancellation initiated by Charles County Recreation.$45.00 equipment fee collected by the instructor onsite.

Our young future chefs will explore a variety of culinary adventures creating an uniquely themed snack. Each month will be a different seasonal theme. *Wearing your own Chef Hat and Apron is encouraged. *All supplies are included.

Introducing basic gymnastics skills, positions, and safety for floor, beam, vault, and bars. Participants will need to bring a water bottle. 
 
7:00 PM - 7:55 PM    Basketball Skills Academy - Winter 25' - Beginner - Waldorf Senior & Recreation Center
This clinic focuses on the basic fundamentals and skills of basketball. Skills and drills will be taught during half court and full court segments on both offense and defense. Each hour session will be broken down into basketball fundamentals, individual and team shooting, and half and full court pressure defense. The main focus is to teach and stress the fundamentals that are important to becoming a better basketball player. BeginnersFor players new to the sport or with less than two years of organized playing experience. Learn basic game rules and skills from experienced coaches to be better prepared. Intermediate/AdvancedFor players that have played more than two years of organized basketball and are considered to be advanced. Learn advanced skills from experienced coaches. Note: Instructor will have the authority to move participants to the class that better fits their skill level.
